Are you dealing with a challenging relationship or a recent breakup?

Dr. Jennifer Taub

I am a PhD-level psychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, children, parents, and couples. I welcome in-person clients in my Jamaica Plain office, as well as clients throughout Massachusetts via telehealth.

My areas of specialization include trauma treatment, EMDR (Eye movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, child and adolescent therapy, early-adult work, parenting guidance, and couples therapy. I also have extensive experience with LGBTQ, queer, and poly-identified clientele, and provide affirming, knowledgeable care.

Therapy is most effective when it is tailored to the individual. I draw on a broad range of evidence-based approaches—including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, family systems work, EMDR (with advanced certification), and training in Ketamine-assisted EMDR—to develop a treatment plan that is grounded in clinical expertise and aligned with your goals.

Working with individuals:

I provide structured, evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD-related challenges, relationship problems, and life transitions. My approach is active, collaborative, and rooted in clinical rigor. We will work together to determine which interventions will best support your goals and your personal style, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model.

Working with parents:

No one knows your child better than you, and no one spends more time with your child than you. I offer parent coaching and family work designed to improve communication, reduce conflict, and support healthier dynamics. I have extensive experience in working with problems of childhood including sleep, feeding, non compliance and anxiety. My approach is evidence-based, collaborative and strengths-based.

I have experience working with a variety of family configurations, stepfamilies, LGBTQ families, and families with gender nonconforming children.

Working with children:

Is your child defiant, aggressive and difficult? Does your child have worries that get in the way of her happiness? Are they feeling sad or disconnected from friends? Whether your child is struggling with aggression, impulsivity, anxiety or sadness, therapy can provide relief to you and your child. The younger your child is, the more time I will spend with you as a family. For school aged children, I will work individually with the child, but have regular check ins together to enhance positive communication, and to support parents in learning new ways to support your child. Services for children begin with a meeting with parents, and establishing a diagnosis through interviews and collection of standardized assessments in order to determine the treatment plan.

Working with adolescents:

Work with adolescents starts from a youth-centered and strengths-based approach. For youth struggling with depression or anxiety, I take an interpersonal focus with specific skills taught as needed, such as understanding how negative thoughts influence behavior, mood tracking, and mindfulness. For youth with Executive Functioning challenges, we will focus on specific systems and skills to support time management, planning, and organization.

Working with couples:

Why did you choose your partner? What childhood wounds do you carry with you into your adult partnerships? How do those wounds impact your day to day interactions? Are you stuck in cycles of blame? Do your relationship conflicts follow you to the bedroom?

We will work together to helping you move from unhealthy cycles of blame and reactivity, to ones of increased understanding, empathy and intimacy with your partner. Using the frameworks provided by Imago therapy and Emotionally-Focused Therapy, you will improve communication skills and your empathic responses so that you have a deeper and more rewarding relationship.

I am experienced in working with a diverse range of couples, including LGBTQ and poly-identified couples.
